(Colo.) – Each year the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and Motorola Solutions recognize state troopers and provincial police who have demonstrated bravery, courage, leadership, and professionalism. Hundreds if not thousands of nominations were submitted to the IACP and ultimately four troopers representing specific regions around the country were nominated. Trooper Lance Curry of the Colorado State Patrol was the selected finalist to represent the entire Mountain Pacific Region.

(Colo.) - Be a good neighbor and buckle up. State transportation and law enforcement agencies from Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming are coming together to remind travelers to always wear seat belts. The State2State.Buckle up campaign wants both drivers and passengers to stay buckled no matter what state they are in or how far they are traveling. 

The campaign coincides with the start of the national Click It or Ticket seat belt enforcement period, which begins May 24 and continues through June 6. 

(Colo.) - The Colorado State Patrol (CSP) in its continued pursuit of keeping the public and Troopers safe on our roadways is slowly phasing out the familiar silver and black Dodge Charger and taking on a new look. The Dodge Durango is set to replace the Dodge Charger fleet over a five-year transition period, becoming the next vehicle platform for the CSP. 

(Colo.) – Over the next two weeks, schools will be out, temperatures will move from mild to hot, and graduation parties will be in full swing. As your teen or young adult heads out the door and jumps in their vehicle, do you know if they are making safe choices behind the wheel?

COLORADO – On May 7, 2021, Governor Jared Polis signed into state law that off-highway vehicles (OHV), regardless of the state or other jurisdiction in which the off-highway vehicle is registered or titled, will not be allowed on public streets, roads, or highways of the State. Off-highway vehicles include ATVs, four-wheelers, and side-by-sides, and more.

COLORADO – The Colorado State Patrol joined with towing industry partners to discuss the importance of the move over law.  A press conference was held at Western Towing and Recovery, 6655 York Street, Denver. 

“Just move over,” said Colonel Matthew Packard, Chief of the Colorado State Patrol. “The lives of those in the towing community rely upon you to slow down and move over.  Drivers must keep their eyes up, pay attention and move over to keep everyone safe and alive on our roadways.”

COLORADO - On April 18, 2021, 16 Denver metro agencies made a coordinated effort to show street racers their behavior will not be tolerated.  Each of these agencies provided officers and other resources to help make a notable impact.  More than 280 citations were issued and four arrests were made during the joint operation.  These street racing groups met illegally in several private parking lots and several drivers were issued citations for trespassing after causing damage to the parking lots. 

(COLO) – During the first quarter of 2021, Colorado State Patrol (CSP) troopers have responded to over 5.5% more fatal crashes than at this same time in 2020. While excessive speed and motorists traveling outside of their designated lane were found to be the top causal factors by CSP crash investigators, a decrease in the use of safety equipment was also discovered.
